Brushes almost perfect fit for Vax Mach Air
I have been looking for brushes for my vacuum cleaner for a while and searching using the model number or description didn't seem to turn up anything suitable. Just by chance I came across Top Deals Online, but almost didn't pursue it as the name didn't seem to relate to carbon brushes...
Anyway, these generic brushes seemed to have roughly the correct dimensions and terminal contact geometry.
I only had two quite minor issues:
- The slots to take the brush housing tabs were very slightly too short. Resolved with two small files, one to file a bit of the corner at each end of the slot and another to clean out the slot.
- The sides would not fit over the brush holder. Sides were flared out to about 45° then they were folded back after the terminal contact had been fixed in position in the holder.

When restorating my dad's 45 year old Makita grinder, I noticed that one the brush caps was broken. And without brush caps it wouldn't work. So after a short search on the internet I found this shop that had the genuine items still in stock for a reasonable price. It took some time to get it from London to the Netherlands because of the first days of the Brexit. But this was the finishing touch and now it works as it was new! Thank you for your service!
